Today’s trek is along the gorgeous Mosel River Valley. In the most romantic part of the Moselle Valley, where the river curves between two hiking paradises – Eifel and Hunsrück – lies the old town of Cochem. It’s a sight worth seeing because of its narrow streets and twisty alleys, the lovingly restored half timbered houses and views of the river! Then, you’re off to an absolutely fantastic winery tour at Dr. Loosen! Known for their Riesling, you’ll meet the sommelier and hear all about their aging process and how to best taste all of the amazing flavors of their wine. You can then imagine a Christmas Market in this setting! Kathe Wohlfahrt has a famous Christmas store located in the town square, right next to the Christmas Market that fills the town’s center! After a full day exploring Rothenburg, you will continue on to Nuremberg for the night. Relax in the crisp German air, perhaps enjoying a glass of wine with friends as Christmas shoppers stroll by. (B)
